Tough Paw

An Obstacle Course for you and your dog!

Date Announced!

19th May, 2024!

What are the different events?

  • Kids Event

The Kids Event is for children aged between 7-12. Their dogs will require two leads on, one for the child and one for the adult.

This is a fun event for children and their dogs to complete together (alongside a parent or guardian).

  • Fun Run

The Fun Run is for the adult and dog team who only want to participate in the course and have some fun. This event is designed for the dog and owner to run, jog, or walk all at your own pace. Have some friends you would like to do the course with? You can! Just let us know when you register so we know to put you and your dogs all together!

  • Competitor Event

The Competitor Event is for the dog and owners who would like to be more competitive and strive to win. Different to 2023, this year the Competitors Event has more obstacles and is a longer distance. In this event you are timed and scored on the obstacles you and your dog complete. If you miss an obstacle, you might get a penalty but you can make it up on other obstacles. There is a first, second and third prize for this event.

What to expect at Tough Paw

Tough Paw is an obstacle course for you and your dog to complete together. There will be some obstacles to complete, and others for you to assist your dog in completing. The location for Tough Paw will be confirmed soon (keep your eye out on our social media!). If you fancy bringing along a camping chair or picnic rug, there will be plenty of room to relax and watch the competitors navigate their way through the course.

The team at Dogs Eye View will send out important information closer to the event, explaining exactly what obstacles you and your dog will complete as a team, and the obstacles you will need to support your dog through.

Those participating in the event can expect to complete 15 + obstacles on the day. Some of these obstacles include jumping over hay bales, navigating tyres, tunnels, some things you will need to go “under” and more! Rest assured if you have a small dog that is vertically challenged, there will be obstacles small enough for them and some obstacles where you will need to lend a helping hand.

The obstacle course is designed for you and your dog to be a team. You are welcome to run, walk and dawdle through the course with just you and your dog, or complete it with a group of friends. Be sure to read the different events so you can decide which event will suit you and your furry friend best!

Not keen on completing the obstacle course? Can you still come to watch?

If you don’t fancy completing the Obstacle Course but would still like to have a ‘dog day out, you and your dog are welcome to come and enjoy the sunshine.

There will be a lucky door prize, sausage sizzle held by Paws Hoofs and Claws and another couple of stalls for you to peruse. There will also be space for you to sit down and watch some of the participants complete the obstacle course.

The different categories will be run one after the other in the following order. Start times will be posted closer to the day:
